ΑCTIVITIES TRAINER

Irida Center is looking for two (2) part-time (4 hours/day) Activities trainers to join our team with a five month-contract, from 01.08.2020-31.12.2020 with a possibility of renewal.
We are seeking skilled and experienced female trainers who could teach and build activities based on Irida’s core values and mission of supporting and empowering refugee, migrant and displaced women from across the world.

Irida Center was founded by InterVolve in January 2018. Irida is a safe, welcoming and participatory space where women have a voice, a sense of ownership, and the opportunity to receive information and support. At our center, women have the opportunity to make social connections and build a strong community; to bond, to develop and to thrive – all in an environment of safety, trust and multiculturalism.

Job Description:

  • Teach English & Greek classes, adjusting to the needs of the participants
  • Ensure that part of the teaching and learning process focuses on community-building, cultural awareness and female empowerment through recreational activities and small, relevant projects. Report and work closely with the Activities Coordinator
  • Be in close contact with the Head of Protection when necessary
  • Attend activities and general team meetings on a weekly basis
  • Actively engage to Irida Center’s events, brainstorming and executing when required Create a safe and trusting environment within the class
  • Be approachable and trustworthy.

Required qualifications,skills & knowledge:

  • Excellent command of written and oral English and/or Greek
  • Very good knowledge of Computers
  • Previous experience in formal or non-formal education
  • Respect and fully align with Irida’s vision and values
  • Professionalism

Desirable qualifications and personal traits:

  • Previous work experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly working with refugee and migrant women
  • Lived experience is highly appreciated
  • Have a finite amount of experience with various cultural morals and norms
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Creativity & Imagination
  • Flexibility

Priority will be given to any woman with lived experience who feels passionate about our mission, and fulfills the basic requirements.
